Industrial design as the name suggests requires technical expertise coupled with creativity and practical knowledge. The industrial designer must also have the power to visualize his project. The aim of industrial design courses is to train the individual in the above mentioned aspects of the field so as to enable him to develop various designs of diverse nature.

A qualified industrial designer will be working to design automobiles, computers, airplanes, sports gear, medical equipment as well as office accessories. The job of an industrial designer required him to conduct extensive research on many different aspects.

Some of these aspects include knowing about the market trends, the safety requirements and other design elements such as shape, texture, weight and building materials.
